Pie Maker Shallot Tarte Tatins

 Is there anything the pie maker can't do?! Maybe make your bed but these make up for it. These are great as either a starter or a side dish.


Ingredients

  • 4 large shallots
  • 1tbs butter
  • 2tbs caster sugar
  • 1 sheet puff pastry

Method

  1. Pre-heat pie warmer. Microwave the shallots with their skins on for three minutes. Remove the skins with scissors.
  2. Over a medium heat, melt sugar in a small pot until golden. Stir in butter. 

  3. Cut pastry into four rounds using supplied cutter. Carefully line each pie mould with the pastry.
  4. Add an equal amount of whole shallots to each pastry round and spoon over caramel. Close lid and cook for five minutes or until pastry is golden
