Steak Tartare

This dish looks impressive but is actually incredibly quick and easy but still makes you look like you know what you're doing when maybe you don't.

Ingredients

  • 200g fillet steak
  • 1tsp capers
  • 4 cornichons
  • 1 small shallot
  • 1tsp tabasco sauce
  • 1tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 handful fresh parsley
  • 1 baguette

Method

  1. Finely chop the beef, cornichons, capers, shallot and parsley. Combine well. Add the tabasco, mustard and Worcestershire sauce and mix well. Add a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper, adjusting according to taste.
  2. To serve, divide among two plates (use a ramekin to shape if desired). Separate the egg yolks and keep the yolks in half of the shell. Nestle the shell into the top of the tartare and serve with thinly sliced toasted baguette.
